Globe Forum about transformation processes in the European higher education landscape – Live podcast show by "Arqus Knowledge Pills"

Alliances in European higher education are built to transform studying in every European country, ignoring barriers in language, between disciplines and institutions. They aim to establish a way to study transnationally, in multiple countries and institutions and therefore integrate the European labor market with a sustainable approach. There are already alliances between 60 universities, including more than 500 institutions in 35 different countries in Europe. These alliances are meant to change the process of teaching and learning drastically while making it more global, more mobile and more independent of the teaching style of specific universities. Which chances can be taken? What kind of difficulties come with it?
These topics were discussed with Claudia Wendt, PhD candidate at the Institute for Higher Education Research, Fernando Galán, consortium manager of the Arqus Higher Education Alliance and Harvey Charles, member of the “International Advisory Board” of Arqus and Vice Provost for International Affairs at the University of Minnesota.

Europäische Hochschul-Allianzen treten an, um das Studium in allen europäischen Ländern, über Sprach-, Fach- und institutionelle Grenzen hinweg zu transformieren. Es geht nicht zuletzt darum, transnational, das heißt in mehreren Ländern und Institutionen zu studieren und so eine nachhaltige Integration des europäischen Arbeitsmarktes zu schaffen. Bereits jetzt existieren Zusammenschlüsse von 60 Universitäten mit mehr als 500 Institutionen in 35 Ländern Europas. Solche Allianzen sollen auf Kurz oder Lang das Forschen und Studieren maßgeblich verändern, es globaler, mobiler und uniübergreifender machen. Welche Chancen ergeben sich daraus? Aber auch welche Schwierigkeiten sind damit verbunden?
Darüber diskutierten Claudia Wendt, Promovendin am Institut für Hochschulforschung, Fernando Galán, Organisationsleiter der Arqus Hochschulallianz und Harvey Charles, Mitglied des Internationalen Arqus-Beirats und Vize-Provost für internationale Angelegenheiten an der University of Minnesota.
